A spotlight on Ain-shams University
- Ain-shams university was established in 1950 under the name of “Ibrahim Basha” university, which was later changed in 1954 to "Heliopolis", and then changed in the same year to its present name "Ain-Shams", the Arabic name for "Heliopolis", or "O'n", which was the oldest university in history. "O'n" University was established about 5000 years ago, and it had a wide fame as a center of knowledge and learning, especially in astronomy, engineering and medicine.

- The school of medicine was called El-Demerdash School of Medicine, before establishment of the University. The original El-Demerdash Hospital was established on August 5, 1928 by a generous grant from El-Demerdash Pasha.

When?
- This year the summer school will be held twice, in August and September, giving you a chance to enroll in whichever period that suits you Best.
- First period: 1-21 August
- Second period: 1-21 September
Where?
- The school is held in Ain-Shams University located in Cairo, the biggest city in the Middle East and Africa. A city where the fabrics of time seem to unwind, where the past, present and future mingles and exits in a unique harmony.
- The training courses will be held in Ain-shams University Hospitals.
Who are we?
Ain Shams University Students’ Scientific Society (AUSSS) is a non-profit student entity that is formed of medical students studying at Ain Shams University’s Faculty of Medicine. The AUSSS holds a number of unique activities such as AUSSS summer school program and AIMSC (Ain-Shams International Medical Students Congress), which is one of the oldest and biggest medical Students research events in the world.

Social program and Trips:
- Our social program will give you the chance to discover the different colors of Cairo, in addition to the three trips included in the Summer program you will have the full Egyptian experience, from the wondrous shores of The North-coast and Alexandria; to the mind-blowing underwater marine life of the red sea; to a trip to the glorious past, a trip to the city of luxor.
What are the requirements, and how can I register?
- Visit our registration page, and fill the application form; an AUSSS representative will contact you later via email.
- You will be asked later to submit:
- A Stamped Certification letter in English from your university, that certifies that your are a student there and your year of study (scanned copy)
- A scanned copy of your passport
- A recent photo of you
- It is recommended to make an international student identity card (ISIC)
- It is also recommended to have a travel health insurance
What does my registration fee include?
- Training at Ain-Shams Hospitals
- Accommodation and 3 meals a day
- Airport pickups
- 3 trips; “Alexandria and the north coast”, Dahb (Sinai) & Luxor
- A Vodafone sim card for your cell phone in Egypt
When should I pay the registration fee?
